TrailIssues is used by volunteer trail crews to record problems found on the trails they look after. This policy covers what the service holds about you and what is done with it.
If you have an account, your name, email address, and a mobile number if you choose to add one. A mobile number is optional and is used only to recognise reports you text in.
When you report a problem, the description you write, any photos you attach, and the location of the problem. A location can come from coordinates saved inside a photo by the camera, from a map pin you share, or from a pin you drop yourself.
If you report by text or email, the address or number the report came from, so the crew can recognise it and reply about it.
To put your report in front of the volunteers who maintain that trail, to reply to you about it, and to keep a record of what was found and what was done. Nothing is used for advertising, and no profiles are built.
You opt in to text messages by texting the service first. Replies are only ever about the report you sent.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with anyone. Information may be passed to the providers that carry the messages, and to no one else.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, and HELP for help.
Your reports are visible to the members of the crew they were filed with. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for marketing. A small number of providers handle parts of the service on our behalf and see only what they need to:
Reports and their photos are kept while the crew still needs them as a record of trail work. Delete your account and the personal team that goes with it is deleted too. Ask us and anything else identifying you can be removed.
